Mixtape 1966

1966: What an embarrassment of riches: from Stax to The Stones to Psychedelia...I was raised on Stax and Motown as my mother had a fine collection of soul vinyl which included Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Tammy Terrell and many more.  Although I was a mere shrimp in 1966, I do remember saving up my meagre pocket money and buying my first two 7'' records: Teddy Bear by Elvis (rerelease) and Sweet Talkin' Guy by The Chiffons (see below).

I can't pretend that  I was into The Stones then as my sister and I would hide behind the sofa whenever they were on Top Of The Pops. They were that edgy; not like those nice clean Beatles! Well, I'm not hiding behind the sofa any more. Look how ridiculously HOT Mick Jagger is in the Paint IT Black clip....unreal.
